Dubai Courts

The Dubai Courts of First Instance, Appeal and Cassation were established under successive laws, the first of which was the law issued on September 8, 1970, establishing the Dubai Courts, specifying its chief judge, dividing them into personal and civil status courts, and making litigation therein two levels of first instance and appellate. Then Law No. (2) of 1979 was issued establishing a court. The Supreme Court of Appeal and Law No. (1) of 1988 AD establishing the Court of Cassation, and this remained the case until the issuance of the Law on the Formation of Courts in the Emirate of Dubai No. (3) of 1992 AD, which combined the three courts - Cassation, Appeal and First Instance - into one law.
