Sharjah Police logo The documented establishment of the Sharjah Police, which appeared for the first time under the name of the Police and Public Security Force, dates back to the year 1967 AD, when the Ruler of Sharjah at that time, His Highness the late Sheikh Khalid bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, issued an Amiri decree establishing the force. At the beginning of its reign, the force worked as a local department directly reporting to the Ruler of Sharjah and working under the supervision of the Head of the Police and Public Security Departments. This position was assigned to His Highness Sheikh Saqr bin Muhammad Al Qasimi and the leadership of the Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police. It was assigned to Brigadier General Abdullah Juma Al Siri to fill this position, and His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah assigned Mr. Burns from the British Oman Coast Force to supervise the training and preparation of the force with the assistance of Mr. Abdullah Juma Al-Sari.
